DEKKAP UHPC
Facade Coating Panels which have been produced for Air-Conditioned Facade Systems minimize the transition of water to be caused by the external facade into the interstitial spaces. Since an air-conditioned area is created between panels and insulation, balanced room air condition is set. It provides protection against weather events such as heavy raining, hail, etc. Temperature difference created between interior facade and the space creates “Bulk Impact” and causes both condensation and water vapor from the external facade to be evacuated swiftly. Therefore, insulation is kept dry and energy efficiency is maintained for years. Along with the maintenance of the insulation, sound absorption is kept in the same level for years.
If UHPC Panels are not exposed to chemical processes or dyed, minor defects, crushes, stresses, fixing system traces or texture defects might be observed on the surface. During the drying process of cement which is one of the main compounds of concrete, calcium hydroxide is extracted and dissolves in the water within the structure. While water is leaving from the concrete, it rises to the surface and calcium carbonate (lime) is created. Calcium carbonate might be accumulated on the surface as waves with the support of the changes in the ambient conditions. This is a natural characteristics of cement based composite materials. Concrete is in the nature of hygroscopic. It absorbs the moisture and reveals to its ambient again. Therefore, stains in different sizes on the panels either get dried or wet in different speeds.
